Thoughts and feelings: arising like the dawn, setting like the sun

Learning to accept ourselves for who we are can start with resting in the natural rise and fall of our thoughts and emotions.
When we have a thought we can watch how it seems to just naturally arise, like the sun arises every morning. This thought is sustained for a short while and then dissipates.
This is true, also, with our emotions. Any emotion, either positive or negative, will arise and fall away naturally.
By hanging onto our thoughts or feelings, by creating a story around them, we are interfering with the nature of things. Just let them rise and fall- like the sun.
